OFFICIAL INAUGURATION OF THE NEW MORCHEM PLANT IN FONTANAR BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENT OF CASTILLA LA MANCHA, MR EMILIANO GARCÍA-PAGE
FONTANAR (Guadalajara), 14th June 2021
On 14th June, the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, inaugurated the new MORCHEM plant in Fontanar.
This event was initially scheduled for 16th March 2020, but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 state of alarm situation.
The event was held with a reduced circle of people respecting the allowed capacity limits at the time and was attended by several authorities from Castilla la Mancha: In addition to the President of the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha, we were joined by Ms. Patricia Franco, Councillor of Economy, Business and Employment of the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha, Mr. José Luis Vega Pérez, President of the Provincial Council of Guadalajara and Mr. Víctor San Vidal, Mayor President of the City Council of Fontanar.
The new plant, built in a record time of 16 months on a 30,000 m2 plot, and after an investment of more than 25 million Euros, is focused on the manufacture of high volume polyurethane and polyester adhesives and is one of the most innovative factories in Europe, with fully automated facilities.
Despite the pandemic situation we decided to start up in April 2020. The good coordination and dedication of the teams of Fontanar and Las Franquesas allowed us to successfully start up the new plant little by little.
We would like to thank the regional government of Castilla La Mancha for all the support received for this project, as well as the City Council and the people of Fontanar for their warm welcome and hospitality.

MORCHEM FONTANAR: COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT WITH CUTTING-EDGE GAS TREATMENT TECHNOLOGY
INSTALLATION OF NEW REGENERATIVE THERMAL OXIDIZER (RTO)
In line with its environmental protection policy, MORCHEM has started in its plant in Fontanar a newly installed Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO), one of today’s most advanced air pollution control technologies across industry.
This process unit is designed to treat volatile organic compounds (VOCs) via thermal oxidation at very high temperature and release a clean air flow into the atmosphere.
At the same time part of the combustion energy is recovered improving the energy efficiency of the system. Environmental protection is one of the pillars of MORCHEM’s sustainability strategy.

NEW MORCHEM DEVELOPMENT TESTED AT BOBST NOVA SX 550 LAMINATING MACHINE
The new Morchem PL 277 A plus CF 746 has been tested at Bobst Italia’s Competence Center in the new BOBST NOVA SX 550 laminating machine.
Duplex structure Printed Polyester with Polyethylene EVOH-PE successfully laminated at more than 350 metres per minute delivering excellent wettability and perfect optical appearance with no bubble formation at the given speed.
Morchem PL 277 A plus CF 746 is a fast curing and fast PAA decay solvent free laminating adhesive especially designed to cover the high demanding market of double barrier films like Printed Polyester with Polyethylene EVOH-PE or Nylon-EVOH-PE and Printed Polyester with Aluminium.

PRODUCTIVITY WEBINAR ORGANIZED BY COMEXI AND MORCHEM
The latest webinar session about productivity organised by COMEXI and MORCHEM on April 15th was a real success with a great number of attendees.
The presenters walked the attendees through value propositions to improve and optimise productivity in solvent free lamination processes, including a demo and a converter testimonial.
Our solvent free modular adhesive MORCHEM PL 262 A + CF-60 and CF-62 is recognised as an excellent tool to increase lamination speed having moreover a short curing process and a fast PAA decay.
